Furness General Hospital provides the area’s main health care facility serving 155,000 in-and out-patients per annum through 7 theatres and 9 wards.
The 400 bed hospital, near Barrow town centre, provides a full range of elective services. It has an oncology (cancer) unit and provides a sub-regional service for upper gastro-intestinal surgery.
